WOW health summary:

WoW membership includes unlimited virtual urgent care, and mental health counseling as well as access to discounted services such as prescriptions, doctor’s office visits, imaging services and surgeries. It is not insurance so they are able to use it even if they have other coverage.

Their employer is giving them a $30 credit which makes the plus and pro planBasically free to them. There is no reason not to enroll!

Would they utilize something like the mental health counseling? Do they need dental or vision?

Wow comprehensive Plan Summary starting at $250.00 (not eligible for folks over 65):

This plan includes everything the pro plan has and also includes a non-insurance solution called HealthShare. HealthShare is a community-based sharing arrangement where members contribute towards each other's medical expenses. The monthly membership fees all go into one pot and is shared when someone in the community has a medical need. How a medical need is defined is a sickness or injury that requires medical attention. When there’s a medical need only the Initial unshareable amount is paid by the member.There are two levels of Initial Unshared Amount (IUA): $1000 and $2500. How it works is the medical bills get submitted to the health share provider which is Zion. The member pays the IUA and the rest would come from the community. Those funds get deposited into their bank account and they are responsible to pay the bills. Healthshare is meant to be used for any medical need that exceeds the IUA amount and 1 preventative service a year like an annual dental exam, eye exam or mental health provider, mammogram, and colonoscopy. 

Healthshare important details:

More than 3 needs in one year will be fully covered by the community

Folks over the age of 65 are not eligible

Pre-existing conditions for anyone that has had advice/treatment/symptoms in the previous 2 years before signing up. If so then any pre-existing condition will not be shareable for the 1st year, the 2nd year is shareable up to $25,000, the 3rd year up to $50,000 and $125,000 each year after that.

$75 price increase for folks 50-64

$50 price increase for tobacco or marijuana use

Pregnancy is covered like a medical need but not covered if conception occurs within the first 60-days the plan is in force.

How it works:

The companies name is Prosperity, and they work directly with them, not hospitals or doctors. Prosperity pays them set benefit amounts directly for any injuries big or small. The claims process is very easy - we are also here to help! Are they interested?

Plan summary $24.68:

With the WoW  plan, or other medical coverage, some out of pocket expenses is likely if seen by urgent care or a doctors office for an injury. If they have an injury and are seen for it they will be paid. This plan provides an Accident Medical Expense Benefit (AME) , it’s a reimbursement for actual out of pocket expenses up to $500, and that amount replenishes every year. So it enhances the benefit amounts normally received when injured, since additional monies for various treatments received to recover from an injury are given.

For example: You tweak an ankle really bad and you’re not sure it’s broken so you go to the ER, get an x-ray, get sent home with crutches and prescribed pain meds. You didn’t end up breaking your ankle but just for getting some needed care that would likely exceed $500, you will be paid a total of $725 if this was the first injury of the year, any other time it would pay $285.

In addition the plan comes with a $50 wellness benefit, just for having a preventative service done like an annual physical.

No, WoW Health is a software platform that brings healthcare products and services by our partners on a “cash” basis which gives our members the transparency and choice to make the most informed healthcare decisions.

Are There Any Pre-Authorizations Or Permissions Required To Use A Service?

No, there are no restrictions for you to use any of the WoW Health services; however there are certain services like medications and diagnostic tests that require a prescription by a treating medical provider.

Are There Any Copays Or Deductibles With WoW Health Services Or Products?

No, WoW Health is not an insurance product so there are no copays or deductibles. You pay what the stated price is, no surprises. Unlike insurance, you will not be billed for any product or service that you have not agreed to before you obtain the service. It is price transparency at its best.

Does The Money I Spend On WoW Health Count Towards My Deductible?

No, the money used does NOT count towards the deductible because WoW Health is not an insurance product. We are able to bring you affordable and high quality healthcare because the medical service providers do not have to submit claims and bills, thus decreasing their overhead costs.

Why Am I Charged The Full Amount When I Make An Appointment?

You are charged the full amount of service when you make an appointment because that money is kept in an "escrow-type" account so when the encounter is completed, money can be released to the medical service provider. This ensures timely payment for the medical service which allows the medical provider to give you the very best price for their services by eliminating paperwork and possibility of non-payment

Can I Cancel My Appointment?

Yes, you can cancel your appointment but you have to abide by the rules of the medical service provider. Our medical service providers charge as low as 30% of the regular market rate so they can not afford cancellations and no-shows.

Usually most appointments can be canceled without penalty up to 48-hours ahead of time.

If I Have An Issue With Any Aspect Of My Service, Whom Should I Contact?

WoW Health is a service but all of our medical service providers are independent businesses. We ask that you contact the medical service provider first and try to obtain resolution of any issues.

However, if there are any outstanding issues, we would love to hear from you so we can facilitate a solution that would be acceptable to both parties.

Who Do I Contact For Technology Or Software Related Issues?

Any software or technology related issues should be addressed with WoW Health directly. Our trained staff are available 24-hours, 365-days a year to address any need.

Why Don't I See My Usual Doctor When I Search For Him/Her?

If you do not see the provider that you are looking for, please check your search parameters. Sometimes your desired date of service or distance or type of service does not match what that medical service provider may be offering.

Also WoW Health is a voluntary marketplace and it is possible that the particular medical service provider is not part of our ecosystem. Please send us the name and any contact information so we can reach out to the particular provider and invite them to be a part of our free market healthcare system.

WoW Health is FREE for all medical providers so there is no barrier to joining.

Do I Have To Pay To Be A Part Of WoW Health?

No, there are no membership fees or costs to be a part of the WoW Health free market healthcare ecosystem for any users. You only pay for services or membership plans once you have established an account and decide to obtain that service or product.

How Is My Data And Records Protected?

Your security is our top priority. WoW Health follows best practices for security, and is HIPAA compliant. All of your information is encrypted and kept in Google Cloud Platform. We use SSL certificates to ensure the privacy and protection of our platform.

Does WoW Health Share Any Of My Health Records With Other Entities?

No, we do not share any of your medical records with your employers. You may share this information for employer related reimbursement but that is your choice.

If I Share My "Wallet" With A Family Member, Can I See Their Medical Records Or Health Data?

No, sharing the wallet with a family member for financial purposes does not expose or share any of the health records between accounts. Even the health data and records for your minor children are kept in separate accounts--we just give you the ability to manage their accounts until they reach the legal age to consent for treatment.

Virtual Urgent Care has been practiced for over 25 years. HealthShare is a community-based sharing arrangement where members contribute towards each other's medical expenses.

WoW Health offers two levels of Initial Unshared Amount (IUA): $1000 and $2500. This approach saves WoW Health members over 50% on their healthcare costs.

HealthShare is not insurance and does not charge monthly premiums. It operates based on voluntary giving among members.

HealthShare complies with state and federal regulations and does not meet the requirements of the Affordable Care Act. Claims are handled through a Needs Case process, and there are no deductibles or coinsurance.

HealthShare membership is open to individuals aged 18 to 65. Pre-existing conditions have limited sharing in the first year, and afterward, they become eligible for sharing on a limited basis.

HealthShare covers medical costs incurred worldwide, and excess needs are prorated if monthly contributions fall short.

HealthShare can be offered through company or group contributions. Members have the freedom to choose their own doctors and hospitals without penalties.

High medical needs do not result in membership termination, and there are no lifetime or yearly maximum amounts for sharing, except for specific treatments outlined in the Membership Guidelines.
